StartReady and Ferrari electronic join forces with UC appliance for Lync
Specialists for unified communications (UC) cooperate on a UC appliance for Microsoft Lync
Teltow (GER)/Uithoorn (NL), July 25, 2011 – StartReady delivers turnkey solutions for unified communications based on Microsoft Lync. Supplying its appliance with a pre-configured Lync Server, the company based in Uithoorn, the Netherlands, works with sophisticated tools to provide its customers with the installation and continuous system support. The Berlin-based UC specialist Ferrari electronic AG supplies Microsoft-certified gateways for Microsoft Lync and Exchange Servers. In this recently agreed partnership, Ferrari electronic directly integrates its gateway board into the Lync appliance from StartReady. The cooperation aims to offer corporate customers a safe transition from traditional telephony to the unified communications platform from Microsoft.
The Office Master Gate integrated into the Lync appliance can also be used as a component of a "Survivable Branch Appliance" (SBA) to guarantee high-availability telephony for cross-site Lync installations.
For Johann Deutinger, CTO of Ferrari electronic, the partnership offers a number of synergies and great potential for the future. "Microsoft has undoubtedly set a standard with Lync, but in practice it is third-parties and partners like Ferrari electronic and StartReady that guarantee businesses a smooth transition from traditional PBX systems to IP telephony.
