Ferrari electronic, leading manufacturer of Unified Communication solutions, presents the new Drop & Insert Failover Kit. With this product, IP telephony will remain available even through hardware failures. The system requirements are minimal, a configuration is not required.
Media gateways like OfficeMaster Gate Advanced R2 for Skype for Business resp. IP PBXs are often run in front of a classical PBX (directly at the PSTN connection). Hereby one PRI/E1 port is connected to the PSTN connection while the second PRI/E1 port is redirected to the PBX. The media gateway then routes one call to the IP PBX and one via ISDN to the classical PBX. Failing gateway hardware endangers the functionalities of telephony in these cases. While integrated failover concepts automatically prevent this, they also require additional configuration.
The new Drop & Insert Failover Kit by Ferrari electronic however is easily installed and does not require any additional configuration. Are calls redirected to an additional system by the Failover Kit, the classic PBX, an active gateway or two gateways take over telephony in Hot Standby Mode.
Both OfficeMaster Gate Advanced R2 and OfficeMaster Gate by Ferrari electronic can be extended by the Failover Kit. The Kit supports two PRI/E1 to the gateway and two PRI/E1 to the PSTN connection / PBX. It thereby guarantees the availability of one PRI/E1.
